1979 Austin Morris Mini 1000 Van finished in Old English White. This MINI was exported and spent most of its early life in the dry warm climate of Cyprus before it was imported back to the UK in 2000. It was then treated a full restoration over a five year period. This restoration was made easier given the relatively great starting condition resulting in a fantastic quality final build which is largely original. Benefitting from a more responsive 998cc engine compared to the 848cc usually found in vans. Engine and gearbox are both relatively quiet making for an enjoyable drive with good power delivery throughout the gears and brakes which stop well having also been restored. Inside the van as many new old stock parts have been used as possible to maintain originality and old authentic parts renewed/restored where possible rather than being replaced with lesser quality new equivalents. Almost 400 miles have been covered since the restoration which is the mileage showing on the newly fitted clocks however the original mileage was showing around 35000 on the original speedo. The vehicle is supplied with a large box file containing invoices for parts used for the restoration, a Heritage Certificate, spare sets of keys and even the original handbook. The vehicle is tax and MOT exempt as a historic vehicle. A very usable, lovingly restored example which is without a doubt one of the best of its kind.
